Advanced Space Announces Strategic Hires

Westminster, CO, 11 December 2025 – Advanced Space, a leading space technology solutions company, announced today the addition of six distinguished professionals to its growing team. These strategic hires underscore the company’s continued investment in technical excellence and customer-focused innovation as it advances its mission to enable the sustainable exploration, development, and settlement of space.

Steve Clarke — Chief of Mission Solutions

Steve Clarke joins Advanced Space as Chief of Mission Solutions, bringing a distinguished career spanning the breadth of the aerospace industry. With extensive experience in executive leadership, systems engineering, and program management, Clarke has led scientific research programs, government and commercial satellite initiatives, and launch vehicle programs throughout his career.

His journey includes leadership roles at Sierra Space and, most recently, Astrobotic, along with a celebrated tenure at NASA as Deputy Associate Administrator for two different positions. He retired from the agency having earned both the NASA Silver Achievement Award and the prestigious Senior Executive Service Presidential Rank Award—a testament to his outstanding contributions to the nation’s space endeavors.

Clarke’s expertise in operations, acquisition, budget development, and policy implementation will strengthen Advanced Space’s project execution capabilities.

Mike Beavin — Director of Strategic Business Development & Government Relations

Mike Beavin joins Advanced Space full-time as Director of Strategic Business Development & Government Relations, bringing more than two decades of space policy leadership experience at the highest levels of U.S. government.

Beavin’s distinguished career includes serving as Director of Commercial Space Policy at the National Space Council within the Executive Office of the President and as Senior Advisor to the NASA Administrator. His extensive Capitol Hill experience encompasses professional staff roles on both the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee.

Throughout his career, Beavin has been a leading advocate for commercial space industry interests with key policymakers across Congress, the White House, the Federal Communications Commission, and federal agencies including the Departments of Commerce, State, and Defense, as well as NASA.

Additional leadership roles include Executive Director of the Commercial Space Transportation Advisory Committee, Senior Advisor for Industry Affairs at the FAA’s Office of Commercial Space Transportation, Deputy Director of the Satellite Industry Association, and Director of Government Relations at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Beavin also holds FAA Commercial Pilot certification with multi-engine and instrument ratings.

In his new role, Beavin will lead efforts to expand strategic partnerships, grow the company’s business portfolio, and strengthen relationships with government stakeholders.

Dan Kubitschek — Distinguished Navigation Engineer

As Distinguished Navigation Engineer, Dan Kubitschek will drive coordination across Advanced Space’s autonomy initiatives, supporting the company’s Innovation and Development priorities.

Kubitschek brings exceptional navigation expertise from his recent position as Deputy Program Manager and Flight Dynamics Lead at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Laboratory for Atmospheric & Space Physics (LASP). His prior experience includes work at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s (JPL) Optical Navigation Group and leadership of the Orion Guidance, Navigation & Control team at Lockheed Martin.

Kubitschek earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS in Aerospace Engineering, and Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, studying under Dr. George Born, an eminent mentor of Advanced Space’s co-founders. His deep expertise and leadership will accelerate innovation and advance mission planning capabilities across the company.

Tim Peters — Principal Technical Program Manager

Tim Peters joins Advanced Space as Principal Technical Program Manager, bringing over 20 years of experience leading Department of Defense and commercial aerospace programs. His expertise spans space-based RF systems, solar array systems, business development, and regulatory compliance.

Tim is known for his technical vision and his ability to deploy mission-critical systems on time, within budget, and to high performance standards while working cross-functionally with diverse teams. His track record of excellence and collaborative spirit align closely with Advanced Space’s core values.

Cassie Webster — Principal Astrodynamics & Satellite Engineer

Cassie Webster joins Advanced Space as Principal Astrodynamics & Satellite Engineer and Flight Dynamics Subject Matter Expert, bringing 18 years of experience to the Mission Design team.

Cassie brings to the company the flight dynamics experience gained on some of NASA’s most high-profile missions. Most recently, she served as Flight Dynamics Lead for the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope and Acting Deputy Flight Dynamics Lead and Analyst for the James Webb Space Telescope—two of NASA’s flagship missions.

Her expertise spans virtually every orbital regime, including Low Earth Orbit, cislunar space, interplanetary trajectories to Mars and asteroids, and libration point orbits. Her depth of experience in flight dynamics and mission operations will be invaluable as Advanced Space continues to expand its capabilities.

Janelle Wortman – Principal Systems Engineer

Janelle joins Advanced Space as Principal Systems Engineer with more than 17 years of experience spanning defense, commercial technology, and emerging digital industries. During her nearly 15-year tenure at Raytheon, Janelle supported Department of Defense missile-systems programs, leading systems engineering efforts across hardware, software, production, and program development. She later brought this expertise to Starbucks, where she oversaw technology procurement, installation, and maintenance for all corporate-owned stores in North America while establishing scalable systems and program management processes.

Drawing on her broad technical and organizational experience, Janelle excels at uniting teams around shared objectives and driving innovative, high-performance solutions. Janelle’s vast systems engineering expertise will support Advanced Space’s growing portfolio of space exploration and technology initiatives.
